Facebook’s Negative Side Effects

1 Bragger

Facebook is full of brags.

1a The “my life’s awesome” Brag

Description: Although it sounds great, most people experience the same things you are. You can get a degree, go on a vacation, land a job, buy a car, and so forth. pirater un compte facebook

Examples:

“You won’t be able to guess the manager of the store!”

“Today, we hit the beaches!”

“Every weekend is a blast!”

These posts are often used to portray a successful, happy, and great social life.

You want to show people how happy you are about life in the best possible scenario. In most cases, however, you just want to create a fantasyland world where everything is perfect for you.

We will give you the benefit-of-the-doubt and assume you are happy with every aspect of your life, and want to share it with your closest friends and family. While you may have an email address, a phone number, and some socializing, people who are not in your immediate vicinity (which is likely 95% of your Facebook friends) don’t really care what you have to share. They don’t like your posts, and probably think that you are a showoff.

1B The bragger who goes underground.

They are not direct about bragging, but they do use certain techniques to boast about their “awesome life”.

“I will be in London next Wednesday in case anyone has any recommendations for me on a nice restaurant”

“A friend needed a hi-speaker so I bought it from him.”

This kind of post is posted by people who want to incite jealousy or appear very successful.

These people are aware that they enjoy brag, and they try to cover as much as possible.

1c The “my relationship with the perfect” bragger

You can tell stories about how wonderful everything is when you describe your feelings for your partner.

“Thank you so much for making my life so wonderful”

“I didn’t expect to find true love in my life.”

People are often too sarcastic with these comments because they don’t have a great relationship and want to make amends.

There is no reason to brag about relationships with people that could make you appear mature and real. You can have photos of yourself and your partner, which is great. But if you’re constantly trying to make people happy, you may be faking it.

2) Be cryptic with your feeds.

If you post something that clearly states that something is wrong, but don’t give any details. This tactic is very ineffective to “force” people into asking you “what happened?”

Examples:

“How could they do that to me!”

“I cannot believe that this happened!”

This is not a sign of a person who values attention.

It is hilarious to see how this type of interaction plays out. Even if someone asks what happened, the person who posted it can also be identified.
